Privacy policy

Last updated 6 August 2026

The short version: this website collects nothing, our games work without an account, and we have deliberately built them so there is very little about you for us to hold in the first place.

This website

mysticfox.studio sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds nothing from third parties. The only outside request a page makes is for the two typefaces it is set in, which are served by Google Fonts; that request tells Google your IP address and browser, as any request for a file does. We receive nothing from it.

Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs of requests to the site. We do not use those logs to build any profile of a visitor.

Our games

Playing without an account

You can install a Mystic Fox game and play it fully without signing in. In that state your progress — words solved, best times, settings, streaks — is stored on your device only. We cannot see it, and deleting the app deletes it.

If you choose to sign in

Signing in exists for one reason: to carry your progress to a new phone. If you do, we store your progress and a display name against your account so it can be restored. Sign-in is handled by Google, and we receive only what is needed to identify the account.

You can play, and keep playing, without ever doing this.

Playing with other people

Multiplayer runs directly between devices on the same local network. Your display name and the scores in that game pass between those devices and do not travel through us. There is no free-text chat — reactions are chosen from a fixed list — so there is no message content to store or moderate.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, ever.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or ad tracking in our games.
  • We do not ask for your contacts, photos, location or microphone.
  • We do not build advertising profiles of players.

Children

Our games are made to be safe for children, and that shapes what we collect. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child beyond what is described above, and nothing in our games invites a player to type personal details or share them with a stranger.

A display name is the only free text a player enters, and it is visible only to people already playing on the same local network. We ask that it is not a real full name.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us information you would like removed, write to privacy@mysticfox.studio and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • See what is stored. Ask us and we will send you the data held against your account.
  • Delete it. Ask us and we will delete your account and its data. Uninstalling also clears everything held on the device.
  • Stay local. Simply do not sign in. Nothing leaves the phone.

Keeping it safe

Data in transit is encrypted. Account data is held with a reputable hosting provider under access rules that stop one player reading another's information. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected players promptly if that ever proves true of ours.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will say so in the game as well.
